If you spot a suspicious Reader or Author, raise it there. The crew may discuss it openly but follow rank protocol.

⭐ 2. Let the trial begin

“By order of the Captain, any suspicious activity can be raised for judgment.

The process is as follows.

Crew writes concern to a Sturdy Anchor in : ALL HANDS ON DECK. If Sturdy Anchor agrees with Crew, complaint is resolved with the assistance from a Great Anchor. He or She - in-turn ascertains if the mater must be brought before a Golden Anchor (or panel of),

If their verdict is tied or not decided, it is forwarded to:

The Captain. If in the rare event the Captain is dumfounded by the skullduggery of said matter it is laid out before the Mermaid Queen.

She may deliver the final shove or set accused free.  Verdict is entered into the Captain's Log - situated at the bottom of the: About Us page.

Not only can suspicious activity be raised... but exceptional Reads will also follow this procedure to the Golden Anchors for special attention and reward. Authors of exceptional quality can be recommended for the Master Authors Quarters by a Golden Anchor panel at any stage after five 5-Star reviews. However, these delightful occurrences are not discussed in the ALL HANDS ON DECK hall. 

 

⭐ Plank Sentence

If the reader or author is found guilty by verdict of the Golden Anchor (or gathering of Golden Anchors), and waved on by the Captain, they shall Walk the Plank — losing an anchor level or escorted ashore if deemed necessary. Therefor earning a mark of shame upon the Captains Log (the log is published at least weekly. No legal names will be mentioned). A fraudulent accusation? Swim back to shore. (see pics above).   

⭐ LAYMAN'S TERMS

In simple terms, this system protects the ship from chaos. Potential non-readers / authors - will board the vessel and their presence if disruptive must be addressed.

Inexperienced reviewers, or even the occasional cheeky author might try to sneak low‑effort, unfair, or spiteful reviews aboard. The Crew’s Quarters exists so these moments can be discussed openly. If something looks suspicious, the crew can raise it, talk it through, and a STURDY ANCHOR can bring it to further attention. 

 

🏆⚓2. Golden Anchor Protocol

Only holders of the Golden Anchor may:

• Accept OR OVERRULE a Great Anchor's judgement or request for a trial.

• Call an official Trial by Crew instead of disturbing the Captain

• Once a trial is over a guilty or not guilty, counter will be activated.    

• Judge whether a suspicious review is fair or unworthy

• Judge whether a suspicious Author is fair or unseaworthy
• Promote an Author to become a Master Author 

• Issue a verdict that affects a Reader or Author's anchor level

• Cases can be laughed out of court once the crew is happy it is a non-event.

Golden Anchors are the highest-ranking reviewers aboard — their word carries weight, but they must act with fairness, clarity, and honour, for even a Golden Anchor can be tried by his or her peers, the Captain and - GULP - the Mermaid Queen
